At Breath Liberation Society, we've always believed in the power of inclusive, ethical breathwork practice.
While we know that a certificate isn't always necessary to be an ethical practitioner, we're excited to announce that we've taken a significant step in demonstrating our commitment to excellence and inclusivity.
Breath Liberation Society is now officially accredited through the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance (GPBA)!
What is the GPBA?
The Global Professional Breathwork Alliance is a self-governing body that upholds rigorous training standards for its members. It also maintains a registry for accredited schools and practitioners.
As stated on their website: "The GPBA is an international organization for professionalism, ethics, and training standards in Breathwork."
Why This Matters
Street Cred
Breathwork is experiencing a surge in popularity, with new training programs emerging daily. While we celebrate this growth, it has created a need to distinguish the hard work and rigor that Breath Liberation Society graduates undertake. This accreditation puts us on the same playing field as other respected programs - and in many ways, beyond.
Representation
In the GPBA's 20-year history, Breath Liberation Society is one of the few accredited programs owned and operated by a person of color. We believe we're the first to be run by a black queer person of color. This accreditation furthers our mission to bring diverse voices and inclusive perspectives to the breathwork community at large.
What This Means for Our Students
🐝 Graduates of our one-year program (200 hours) can apply to register as Ethically Compliant Breathwork Facilitators.
🐝 Those completing our two-year program (400 hours) can register as Certified Professional Breathwork Facilitators.
At Breath Liberation Society, we're committed to maintaining our radically inclusive approach while demonstrating our dedication to high standards.
This accreditation is not just a certificate - it's a testament to our ongoing mission to elevate and diversify the field of breathwork.
